Cuddly Colfax Bear Hooded Cowl

1546176_737553206329839_7123790170351236806_nHey everybody!  As I sit here in my home, sipping a lovely butterscotch latte, I’m feeling quite magnanimous.  Also, I figured since it’s been over a month since I posted any freebie patterns, that it’s about time.  I am especially endeared to this pattern as I was inspired by local surroundings.  I feel fortunate to live in the great state of California, and really lucky that I am a native.  I also understand that many of you who live elsewhere have a dim view of my beloved home based on the reports of others, or you had a bad experience yourself (just to remind you, those happen everywhere).  I currently reside in the scenic Sierra Nevada Mountain range, where bears, mountain lions, deer, raccoon, foxes, coyotes, etc., roam free.  I know they’re in our neighborhood because they leave little “gifts” in the most conspicuous places, but I don’t really mind because I love being here.  Besides, I’m already picking up after my dogs and cats, what’s a little wildlife scat going to hurt?

Anyway, after all that, here’s a link to the pattern and for those of you who don’t crochet or just don’t want to be bothered I have included a link to my online shop, as usual.  I also keep all my patterns and some others I find online on my Crafting Links tab, where it’s broken down into Knit and Crochet patterns.  If you just click the tab with choosing from the drop down menu, there is a form where you can upload your own pattern.  Enjoy!

Crochet-A-Long Finished!

DSC_0143 - Copy

It is cute!

I finished it – then decided to put it up for sale!  LOL  However, sometimes I need a little feedback on the items I’m offering. I put this Halloween Pumpkin Face Throw on sale this morning on my Etsy account. It takes awhile to make, so I felt the pricing was good, but it is only 49″ square.  Feedback, feedback!  Click on the picture if you want to see the Etsy listing with all the pictures.  Thank you guys.

Blatant Advertising….And a Nudge for the Hookers Out There

You know you want it!

You know you want it!

While doing a countdown to Friday so I may start on the CAL  (yes, that’s a link for the crocheters aka “hookers” out there…click on it if you haven’t checked it out already), I decided to play with some novelty yarn.  I’ve done this particular ribbon-type yarn before, but it’s been awhile.  I rather like this particular yarn because there’s a gold sequin edge along the ruffles.  I know, I know, it doesn’t really sound like my style, but it was so cute, and this color – oh! – had to do it.  And now you can have one too.  Think of how cool it would look on you during the holiday seasons…there are other colors to choose from.  Click on the pic, it will take you there, and check it out.  If you don’t think you’ll like it, but know someone who would, pass it on.  Sharing is caring.  It’s all good.

Bath Mitts!

While perusing an old crochet magazine, I came across a real easy pattern for a bath mitt that I remember wanting to make many moons ago.  I just happened to have everything I needed on hand, so away I went.  After seeing my mitt, my husband and my daughter wanted me to make them one.  And with my mother coming to visit, I know she’ll want one also.  It dawned on me that this might be something I need to add to my Etsy inventory, so here it is in all its glory – LOL!
